Dragons win by 56 runs
Prologue
Dragons,having won all their game, but one against Medics,were already in semi-finals, and this game was to be used to practise and formulating strategies for the two big games lined up on 27th. That meant, bringing our best combination to the fore, and trying out the possible combinations. But the reliable Mahesh, just back from India after holidays, had to pull out from the match at the last moment due to unavoidable circumstances, which meant Mayur made his debut in the winter league and gain some experience of playing the indoor format.
Toss
Mayur was still on his way to the ground and was sure not to reach there at the scheduled play time of 11:15 am, which meant, we had no other choice but to bat if we win the toss. Luckily we did, and that gave him a chance not to miss any part of the match, and also get acquainted with the indoor rules and format.
Batting
Vaibhav & Prabu started the initial blitzkrieg, with them again setting a unrealistic target of 100 to achieve in 5 overs, and ended up getting a paltry 22 as the batting pair. That meant,Pravin had to resurrect the damage and build up the innings. He responded to the call, ably supported by determined Kurian, not to loose any further wickets, adding up a massive 63 runs in 5 overs, and getting us back in track to get a decent score. The score meant, Satya & Mayur, batting as the last pair, could relax and bat freely. Mayur batting for the first time, did reasonably well, and could have been much better, if not for getting out 3 times, and so did Satya in the last over going for extravagant shots. They added up 37 together, taking the final tally to 123 runs.
Bowling
Bohemians have not won many matches so far in the tournament, but no team can be discounted. Bowlers bowled well within themselves,ably supported by close in fielders, and wicket keeper, effecting brave run outs, and taking sharp catches.Prabu bowled ball of the series when he had Peter bowled in 7th over of the match. Peter, batting lefthanded, played all across a good length ball by Prabu, bowling round the wicket,castling the batsman, and wickets slained dead at the ground.Scott, coming in the last pair, had some moments of fun, but would have surely not enjoyed, getting out in all possible manner today- caught,bowled, run outs, and was certainly a sight to see on ground. Their 3 batting pairs made 10,30 and 27 taking total to 67 in alloted 15 overs.
Captain's Man of the Match
Finally, the man to watch out in the knock out game, have woken up, and beware PCC & Medics, Pravin,is hitting well, and reliable as always behind the stumps. No doubt today, he was man of the match, bringing us back in game from a horrendous start.
Semi-Finals & Finals
The league culminated with 2 big games on 27th march, and expecting a good support for Joshiley Dragons for the same.
